The fate of the Empire hangs in the balance ... and in the hands of an unlikely pair of heroes! In the wake of the Great War, Lieutenant Alice Malvin assumes command of the Imperial Army's Intelligence Section III - a ragtag bunch of pencil-pushers used to spread military propaganda. But Malvin, an idealistic soldier who refuses to rest while her people suffer, yearns to cut through the thick skin of deception perpetrated by power-crazed nobles. When her investigation reveals a clandestine super-soldier program known as The Invisible Nine, she finds herself trapped in a whirlwind of deadly secrets. The closer Malvin gets to exposing government corruption, the less likely her beloved IS3 is to survive. With the fate of the Empire hanging in the balance, Malvin turns to an unlikely ally - Randel Orland, a hulking veteran who may hold the key to unlocking the mysteries of The Invisible Nine. In a world where nobility and power make the rules, the truth can get an honest soldier killed. /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";}

Carry on, please!
Very stylish anime. Classic heroine with a mission, in a Central-Europe country despoiled by war and civil unrest.Occasional levity lightens, perhaps unnecessarily, a grim picture that is, however, not without hope: the forces for good are still there, battling, at the end.The problem is that the final episode (24) only takes us into Vol.5 of the corresponding manga (which currently has reached Vol.10 - "to be continued", in the French translation). The anime at that point has just gone into full stride, with all the protagonists properly characterised and set for the ongoing struggle. Don't be tempted by "Vol.5" and "Vol.6" currently available - these are not a continuation of the present 4-volume set, but merely represent episodes 17-20 and 21-24, respectively.

Unconventional
Pumpkin Scissors is difficult to describe, its not action packed but there is a splash of crimson regularly.it's more like a political satire with the under lying theme being what do soldiers do during a time of peace when combat is the only thing they have ever known?More to the fact in the case of "Randal Oland" what do you do during peace when you are an experiment built for the sole purpose of engaging tanks at point blank range?The man is a monster, fearless and zombie like when faced with the hand of death on his shoulder but at the same time truly remorseful often shedding tears for those killed in battle and haunted by his sins committed in the name of a government that regarded him as nothing more than a Petr dish.the characters are the driving force of this show, there are so many plot holes that you begin no to care about the story as by the end hardly any of the questions are answered, to be honest the only reason i watched it all the way through was to see if Oland would lose his mind and massacre everyone, commit suicide, or tame his inner beast.this series is almost like that old 90's series JAG, but it is really odd, it only appeals to a certain type of viewer since i like things like soul eater, bleach, buso renkin, claymore, gun sword and fairy tail, thats not me
